Land of Goshen

Connecticut-Land of Goshen

One of Connecticut's greatest assets is a network of rivers. Early on in the state's history, these river currents were transformed into power for manufacturing. Connecticut became a leading industrial state in New England and eventually lead the way in the American Industrial Revolution.
The township of Goshen followed a different course. The area lies in the fertile valleys of the Housatonic and Waterbury rivers. The countryside's uniform rainfall and rich soil was easily adapted for grazing and became a leader in the dairy business.
Goshen residents are proud of their homes and town. This well kept farm is a standout along Route 4, an example of a fresh appearance and the neatness found throughout Goshen.
