Washington DC, America's capitol city, is well known for its famous landmark buildings, monuments and memorials. The city is much more than monuments and Capitol Hill. A quarter of its area is devoted to park land. Besides parks and gardens, the town is filled with historic sites, art galleries, museums, sports centers, theaters, science centers, restaurants and even amusment parks.
      Constitution Avenue runs east and west, and takes visitors through the heart of the National Mall. On this Sunday morning, the Constitution Avenue view, just east of Capitol Hill, offers a peaceful look at one of D.C.'s usually busy streets. Looking toward the west from this section of the avenue, an elevated view of the center of town is discovered, with views of the Capitol Building and Washington Monument.
