Home to 450 horse farms, Lexington still holds to its claim as the horse capital of the world. Although the area is know for Civil War conflicts, bourbon distilleries and countryside scenic drives, its racing horse farms are the mainstay.
     The Kentucky Horse Park is a 1,200 acre working farm and park, located nearby I-75. Surrounded by 28 miles of impressive white fence, the paint alone totals more than 40,000 dollars a year. Close to 50 horse breeds are represented at the park.
     This scene is found along Lexington's Bluegrass Driving Tour. The route begins in Lexington and circles the north side of the city, taking in over 30 horse ranches.
