Notch Train

Notch Train - Conway

The Notch Train rolls out of an 1870s vintage Conway Depot, headed for a scenic ride through the White Mountains area. The Conway Scenic Railroad also provides abbreviated excursions along the valley route, passing the Swift and Saco Rivers. The Crawford Notch Loop is a five hour roundtrip, offering spectacular mountain views and cascading waterfalls through New Hampshire's hardwood-evergreen forest. An added treat is the Chocorua dining car and the fully restored Pullman Parker observation car, the Gertrude Emma built in 1898.
The old favorite steam locomotive, # 7470 has just returned to service after extensive boiler repair and a complete refurbishment. This Canadian original is one of a handful of active steam locomotives in New Hampshire.
