The White Mountains cover a large section of northern New Hampshire and offer over 600,000 acres of rugged territory, ready for recreation fun. With over 1,200 miles of trails, hiking opportunities abound. Tuckerman Ravine Trail is a popular hike originating at Pinkham Notch. The six miles trip, for motivated hikers, presents some challenging terrain.
This view shows-off the Tuck blanketed with fall's colorful foliage. Autumn is a popular time of year, making this remote area seem like a walk in Central Park.
The White Mountains, with 48 peaks over 4,000 feet, provide some of the best mountain scenery in New England. Whether your are enjoying the view from your car, hotel balcony or up close on a hiking trail, the White Mountain National Forest land will surely leave a lasting impression.
