Golden Gardens Park - Washington

As the sun fades to a golden glow in the west, sunbathers begin to pack up their coolers and beach chairs, but volleyball players refuse to quit before there's a clear-cut winner. Nearby anglers look forward to when the bite begins, and teens begin to gather for the evening. As you would guess, there are a lot of activities going on at Golden Gardens Park.
Although the Seattle area supports more than 6200 acres of parkland, only a few parks are located on the shoreline. Golden Gardens Park, with its rugged coastline, sandy beach line and fishing pier, it's one of the metro area's most popular parks. Featuring a trail loop, picnic pavilions, off-leash dog area, and amazing sunsets, Golden Gardens packs them in. Open until 11:30 PM, it’s common to see beach parties and bonfires. The park's been a popular stop since the early 1900s when local realtors and developers promoted the park in hopes that would-be buyers would pass through fledgling developments. With its majestic views of the distant Olympic Mountains, the inviting Puget Sound, and incredibly starry sky, Golden Gardens remains one of Seattle’s top spots for weekend fun.
