Bald River Falls

Bald River Falls

What will 100 million dollars buy? Deep in the Southern Appalachian Wilderness, this large sum has produced a highway that road enthusiasts and sightseers dream of. The highway is a 36 mile shortcut connecting Tellico Plains, Tennessee, with Robbinsville, North Carolina. The Cherohala Skyway, taking its name from the Cherokee and Nantahala national forests, twists and winds through rugged mountain peaks, offering mile high panoramic views along the way.
Bald River Falls is one of the inspiring views along the byway. This 90 foot falls is regarded as one of Tennessee's most scenic waterfalls. Bald River, a powerful stream, begins at a high elevation in the Appalachian Mountains and flows down to the Tellico River. The roadside falls area is about 12 miles east of Tellico Plains on Forest Road 210.
