Twin Lakes Bridge - Ohio

Eden Park, home to Cincinnati landmarks such as Krohn Conservatory, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and the Cincinnati Art Museum, is one of the city's most beloved parks. Built around an old limestone quarry, the original plan provided a reservoir for city drinking water. Seeing the potential to serve a dual purpose, city officials sought the expertise of landscape architect, Adolph Strauch. Overlooking the Ohio River, the 186 acre park featured two lakes, a pedestrian bridge, and the Hinkle Magnolia Garden. Sculptures, an appropriate gazebo, the John Rule Deupree Memorial, and blooming trees all highlight the winding pathways.
Pictured here is the Twin Lakes Bridge, built in 1908 by the Granitoid Company. Freshly restored in 1998, the Twin Lakes Bridge is one of the many iconic landmarks of the park. Located in the Mount Adams Community of Cincinnati, the park provides a peaceful setting and a relaxing escape from city life. The park also comes alive with a summertime music series at the Season Good Pavilion. Hosting one of the largest hot air balloon glow events, the Balluminaria lights up the park in mid November. Thanks to one of the wealthiest residents of Cincinnati, Nicholas Longworth, Cincinnati residents have been enjoying their park since the late 1800s.
